No Health Insurance is NO Alternative

Author: Kelley Filice Jensen

Health insurance is very expensive, and some people rationalize going without it because they figure that they invest their resources into being healthy, and they never need to go to the doctor.  Their favorite alternative and complementary medicines such as chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage are generally not covered by insurance plans anyway, and even if they are, the chiropractor probably does not accept insurance.  But, not having health insurance is NOT an alternative for those alterative medicines !  Why?  Because, if you are involved in a car accident, and you are laying on the side of the road, scared that your injuries are serious, do you want to be rushed to a chiropractor or to an emergency room?

What is temporary medical insurance and how is it different than regular individual insurance?

Temporary medical insurance plans expire after a period of time, and regular individual medical insurance plans do not.

Child Only Medical Insurance Plans

Author: Kelley Filice Jensen

The concept of buying your child his own medical insurance seems odd and unnecessary, but often times this odd concept can save your family a lot of money, and provide your child with excellent health insurance.  Why?  If your health insurance is through your employer and your employer pays 100% of your health insurance, but pays 0% of your family and dependents, then you pay the cost of including your child on the company’s group health insurance plan.  The rates charged to groups are much higher and can leave you paying more than double an individual policy.

It always starts the same for parents.  One day your child does or says something that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and a nagging feeling inside you says, “something is wrong with my child”.  Maybe your child is very young, a toddler, or maybe you don’t get that feeling until he is school age, but no matter when it dawns on you, it always starts the same, “something is wrong with my child”.
