Republican Challenge – Fit For Life Summer Challenge

Illinois Republican Aaron Schock is a site for sore eyes on the cover of Men’s Health Magazine, but he is doing much more than just showing off his six pack abs. He is challenging all of us to get fit for life this summer, with Men’s Health Magazine’s Fit For Life Summer Challenge. Men’s Health Magazine, and Congressman Schock want us all to know that $8 out of every $10 that we spend on health care, is spent on a disease or condition that would be preventable if we took better care of ourselves. That is a staggering statistic that affects us all. So this summer, log onto Men’s Health Magazine and join the challenge. Get coworkers and family to join with you, and get Fit For Life. “Do it for yourself. Do it for your family. Do it for your country”.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

“Blood pressure” is the force of blood as it moves and pushes against your artery walls as the heart pumps out blood. Hypertension describes a condition when your blood pressure rises and stays high over an extended period of time. When this occurs, hypertension can cause damage to your body…not just your heart, but other organs and their functionality as well. Hypertension is a serious condition that can lead to coronary heart disease (CAD), heart failure, stroke, kidney failure and other health problems.
